GMS01 died, IMSDE RESTARTED
Occurs on FaxFep boxes. This is quite often a false alarm, so before taking any action, it must be verified:
- On the offending machine, find out what the associated IP is. (If the IP was given in the alarm, it is almost certain that this is NOT a false alarm.)
- grep machinename /mail/adm/imsfeps in this case, machinename is GMS01
- telnet to the given IP on port 2000
- If the process is working, you should connect and get a chunk of text with the string C:\US\USTCP.EXE in it somewhere.
- If no connection, send a ticket to WMC via CPIMS and have them reboot the box (e.g. GMS01). (GMS01 isn't responding to telnet request on port 2000, please reset)
- the ticket status is WMC
- the ticket workgroup is Edison NJ NOC
