Nice point: Made by someone over at Whiskey Bar, in the comments to A Saudi Riddle I mention all this just to say the reasons for most of our wars and military adventures can be traced to the economic interests of a few wealthy individuals. Even our entry in to WWI was influenced by the economic interests of major banks that were afraid England and France wouldn't be able to pay back the money these banks had loaned if they lost the war. Make the world safe for democracy, indeed. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that, at the core, most wars have the same root causes: the economic advatages of a few.
